Next Boiling Point date

Well even more dank wet days last week , so I thought I'd better do some catch up on what's happening with the Boiling Point nights just to warm you up, the next date being Saturday 22nd September.

It's not the last Saturday of the month I know and it seems that the November and December dates will have to fall on the first saturday of the month , blame me as I don't want the nights to clash with my Sunday fortnightly show 11am -1pm on 96.9 fm Future Radio ( getting to old for all that late nights/ early morning stuff !).
So for those regulars who come down, keep in check with this site and the Boiling Point crew will get in touch with whoever we can.

I haven't spent much time on the site as my real work has taken a lot of my time, but I'm hoping to spend more time loading up pics of some of the rarities you get to hear through the show and from the nights, and talking about the music we love to hear.

Summer Hols!

Boiling Point has been swanning about at Womad and camping in Wales and generally enjoying the summer, so the Take 5 gigs are taking a break until September. However, as I know you are keen to get your fix, we are now live on Future Radio on alternate Sunday mornings, 11.00-1.00pm. Just the thing for lazing around to with the Sunday papers. Catch it on 96.9Fm or live streaming at www.futureradio.co.uk.

I'm playing a mixture of laid back tunes to wake up to, and my usual treasure trove of hot rhythms from hotter climes.

July 21 -Next Gig!!!

Hi there , please note we're running a week early this month as I'm off to WOMAD on the 25th.
Last month proved to be a scorcher, thanks to Ayuub and Mr Maclean. The Take 5 cellar was packed out, was this due to the terrific tunes, or down to folks wanting a last puff? Obviously, it was the former! The Boiling Point paparrazzi had a bit trouble with battery power, so no photos this time, a shame becuase we would have liked to capture Take 5's glamorous cigarette girl who did a roaring trade selling individual ciggies for 30p each, just like being back at school!
The July gig will feature Spenn and myself with guest the Anthropoligist, AKA Markie C . More info during the week.
On another note, if you're looking for an excellent African CD, check out my mate Sammi's Green Arrows collection, you can read a review from Pop Matters here: http://www.popmatters.com/pm/music/reviews/the_green_arrows_4_track_recording_session/

Who knows this man?

Good to see Mr Soundclash, one of the freaky fans of Boiling Point, spotted at last night's excellent gig. This man's smoked too many Cuban cigars!

Next Gig at Take 5-April 28

The next monthly gig at Take 5 is on Saturday April 28. I hope to have a couple of new guests and I'm planning to stir it up by mixing in some soulful rare grooves and some fifties rocking R&B and juke joint blues from my archives. African will still be centre stage, with some tasty morsels up my sleeve to tempt you onto the dance floor.

As you see below the Boiling Point paparrazzi were out at the March gig, if you've any shots you want to share, just let me know.

Always keen to see some new faces, so do circulate this page to your "friends and family".
